Each rug is unique

Wool rug - Meadow Green gives a neutral living room more depth and a clear focal point around the sofa. The green works well with dark oak, black steel and houseplants, and makes cream, beige and sand-coloured upholstery look calmer. Next to a terracotta pot or a cognac leather chair, it creates an earthy colour palette. In a Japandi or organic modern interior, Meadow Green sits well with linen, rattan and untreated wood. The handwoven wool feels soft and full underfoot, pleasant by a reading chair or beside the bed. Meadow is suitable for underfloor heating, so warmth from below passes straight through the rug.

Wool

Sheep's wool is the basis of this rug, and owes its dirt and moisture repellent properties to lanolin, the wool's own natural grease, which also insulates against the cold and muffles sound better than a hard floor. In the first few weeks the fibre may shed slightly, a normal trait that settles down with regular vacuuming. Because wool rugs are often hand knotted or hand woven, small irregularities and slight size variations are normal.

You can vacuum the rug with the bristles tucked in. To protect the delicate fibers, we advise against using vacuum cleaners (stick vacuums/robot vacuums), and for flat-woven rugs, to vacuum in the direction of the weave.

Care

Vacuum twice a week with the brush retracted, this also reduces shedding on a new wool rug. Blot a spill immediately with a clean, slightly damp cloth without rubbing, so dirt does not work further into the fibre. Wool dries more slowly than other materials, so avoid getting it too wet. Shake the rug out outside occasionally for a deeper clean between vacuuming.

Your wool rug

On colder days

Wool holds on to warmth, which you feel most on a wooden or tiled floor.

Light shedding at first

Some loose fibre can be left over from the making, and a few rounds with the vacuum removes it.

Slow to absorb moisture

A drop sits on the surface for a moment, so dabbing is usually enough.
